The company WERNIG Maschinen und Apparatebau GmbH & Co. KG Gelnhausen donates 3,200 euros to the Foundation Children's Future to combat famine in Guatemala
Since 2007, the company WERNIG the Foundation Children's Future. The company was founded over 65 years and is engaged in the manufacture and maintenance of mechanical vacuum pumps. Since last year, the company WERNIG decided not to give little gifts to customers for Christmas instead to donate to children in need. The donation will be used to combat famine in Guatemala. This year, the country has been hit by the worst drought in decades. The worst hit are the poorest of the poor, the children. In Guatemala, 500,000 children are in great danger.
"Through our donation we can help ensure that 20 children in Guatemala can escape hunger for a year. This famine shows again unfortunately that politics intervenes too late and in insufficient scope for starving people. We as a company ourselves are aware of our social responsibility and support for many years, the Children's Future because we can be sure that 100 percent of the donation goes to the aid projects of the Foundation, "says Stefan Leber, managing partner of the firm WERNIG.
The Foundation has been providing transparent and sustainable assistance to children in need since 1988. For this purpose, it maintains, in addition to numerous nutritional and educational projects worldwide, children's villages, schools and training institutions in Guatemala, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Romania. For their exemplary work Children's Future was honored by the Government of Hessen as foundation of the year. For many years, Children's Future has been a bearer of the charity seal of the German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI), the hallmark of reputable charitable organizations.
The Foundation's work is financed by donations, sponsorships, foundations and endowments. Since all the administrative costs of the Foundation are covered by statutory income of the endowment and specific returns, all donations go 100% to needy children.
