Help for Children in Need (2013)

The company WERNIG Maschinen und Apparatebau GmbH & Co. KG in Gelnhausen donates 5,000 Euro to the foundation Children's Future for their charity projects in Guatemala.

For many years WERNIG Maschinen- und Apparatebau has been supporting the charity Children's Future. The company was founded over 65 years ago and is involved in the manufacture and maintenance of mechanical vacuum pump.

WERNIG again this year also handed over a generous check to the foundation for Children's Future for children in need. The funding will go this time to Guatemala.

With great ingenuity and sincerity, the company even doubled its usual donation. "Instead of little gifts for Christmas for our customers, this year we prefer to increase the donation to children in need," explains CEO Stefan Leber.

A check to the amount of 5,000 Euro was the result which the Managing Director at the donation ceremony at the offices of WERNIG handed over to Cornelia Wolff, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Foundation's Children's Future.
Leading the way Stefan Leber primarily regards the way the foundation functions. "The fact that 100 percent of the donations actually benefit the children, is the decisive criterion for our donation. The Foundation Children's Future is in this respect a role model."

Overall, he would like even more commitment to children in need: "According to the latest Global Hunger Index, more and more people suffer from hunger today. This is a disappointing development. It would be nice if more people would get involved for needy children in the media and in politics."

Since 1988, the Children's Future has been ensuring transparent and sustainable assistance to children in need. In addition to numerous nutritional and educational projects worldwide, it also maintains its own children's villages, schools and training institutions in Guatemala, Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Foundation was awarded the donation seal of the German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI), the hallmark of reputable charitable organizations.
